After 15 years in the industry Alex opened Lucy’s Flower Shop together with Ola Carlson – who he’s been friend with since 2006.
Lucy’s Flower Shop was inspired by their travels and combined 35 years of experience from running and working in bars, Ola and Alex had a vision of creating their idea of what would be the perfect cocktail bar for the actual space and the location. With the bright, colourful and uplifting energy of a nightclub yet the cocktail program of a refined drinking establishment. This is the first bar they’ve created where they could express themselves completely in every detail, from the planning, interior design, to the staff, drinks program and ambiance, even the positions of the electricity sockets. A strictly minimalistic concept that flows right down to the drinks menu.
Their signature cocktails have since opening in 2019 focused (but not limited) on local produce and also using the produce as much as possible – where ‘don’t throw away anything that still has flavour’ has been a mantra. The bar’s main used leftover is a vinegar from Fruktstereo, a natural fruit winery in the south of Sweden. We got in touch with them about their vinegar a few months before opening. They’re hoarders, just like us – and they had loads of unpasteurized and unfiltered super tasty vinegar which sparked us, and later turned us into the bar using vinegar as an acidic in cocktails.
