Amber began her hospitality career at 15 as a host, eventually finding her way into the back of house where she worked expo and pantry. It was there that her love for food and beverage first began to take shape.
She began bartending in 2013 in Richmond Hill, developing her style before moving downtown in 2020 and fully immersing herself in Toronto’s cocktail scene.
Amber became a familiar face during her time at Death & Taxes, known for slinging Blackbirds, sharing hugs, and building genuine connections with guests and regulars. Since then, she has continued bartending part-time while intentionally expanding into events. Now a freelance Event Supervisor and Manager under Mei Hospitality Solutions, she leads end-to-end coordination and day-of execution for a range of clients, while beginning to produce her own events.
With a creative background in floral design and communications, Amber approaches both bartending and events with a strong sense of storytelling and attention to detail. Her approach is rooted in kindness, care, and a genuine love of connection. She believes hospitality is the greatest industry because it’s built on creating joy, and lives by a simple motto: stay positive and upbeat. Outside of work, she’s crafting cocktails, catching live music, enjoying game nights and potlucks with friends, trying new restaurants and adding to her growing collections.
